A select group of console players will soon get the chance to experience the Elden Ring Nightreign network test, taking place this weekend. If you're one of the fortunate testers, you can start preparing now.
Elden Ring Nightreign was unexpectedly revealed at The Game Awards last December. This standalone title, which is not a DLC, invites players into an alternate version of the Land Between's Limgrave area, now known as Limveld, for a unique co-op experience with a twist. Featuring a specific three-player co-op mode, your group of adventurers will have a three-day in-game cycle to defeat a boss and tackle other enemies along the way. If you don't have friends to team up with, no worries—solo play is an option, though it might not be as comforting.
Before the official release later this year, FromSoftware is offering the Elden Ring Nightreign network test. The test will run over the weekend, starting on Friday, February 14. However, it's not an open event; only those who registered have a chance to participate. The network test is divided into a limited number of sessions, with times varying depending on your region.
Sign-ups have already closed, and the selected players should check their inboxes (and spam folders) for their codes. These codes, sent via email, will allow access to the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, PC players are not included in the test. If you're eligible, you can redeem your code on the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store.
The preload for the Elden Ring Nightreign network test is 9.42GB for PS5 and 9.88GB for Xbox Series X|S, so make sure you have at least 10GB of free space. The file size is relatively small, so clearing space shouldn't be a huge task.
The Elden Ring Nightreign network test will feature five separate sessions, beginning on Friday, February 14, and running until Monday, February 17. Each session lasts for three hours. In the game, a full in-game three-day cycle lasts about 35-40 minutes, so even with just one session, you'll have plenty of time to get a solid experience.
